Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer ~ Review

I got to review the movie Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer. My daughter was super excited when we received it, and she really enjoyed watching it. Now she is begging for a red mood ring like Judy Moody has! I am usually very picky about the movies that I let her watch, because she is only 4 years old, and this movie is rated PG. However, I think it was perfectly fine for her, and she really liked it! She is the type of kid to watch a movie over and over, so I think this one will be in her DVD player a lot!!!

Here is some information about the movie.

SUMMER VACATION DOESN’T NEED TO END YET
Judy Moody And The Not Bummer Summer
Extra Thrill Points Arrive on Blu-ray and DVD October 11th

Summary: Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment  announced today the continuation of summer fun and thrill points as JUDY MOODY AND THE NOT BUMMER SUMMER, the irresistible family comedy based on the best-selling book series, arrives on Blu-ray and DVD on October 11.

The first film adaptation of the beloved children’s book series, JUDY MOODY AND THE NOT BUMMER SUMMER, by Megan McDonald with illustrations by Peter H. Reynolds, is a delightfully, laugh-out-loud hilarious treat for adventure-loving kids, tweens and adults.

Feisty, fearless Judy Moody (Jordana Beatty) is looking forward to the most super-duper, double-rare summer vacation ever. The trouble is, her parents are called out of town and her BFFs are going away with their own families. That leaves Judy trapped at home with her pesky brother Stink (Parris Mosteller) under the watchful eye of Aunt Opal (Heather Graham). But with a little playful planning - and a lot of imagination - Judy turns a snoresville summer into the way-not-boring adventure of a lifetime!

The JUDY MOODY AND THE NOT BUMMER SUMMER Blu-ray and DVD comes with a collectible Judy Moody Activity Book complete with extrathrilladelic games, puzzles, activities and more.  Additionally, each Blu-ray and DVD is packed with never-before-seen bonus features including a behind the scenes cast vignette, “10 Things You Didn’t Know About Judy Moody”, an exclusive Camryn Summer Music Video, and much more.

The film stars newcomer Jordana Beatty (Superman Returns)  as Judy Moody along with Heather Graham (The Hangover, “Scrubs”), Jaleel White (“Psych,” “Family Matters”), Preston Bailey (“Dexter”) and Parris Mosteller (“Worst Week”).  John Schultz (Aliens in the Attic) directs from a screenplay by Megan McDonald and Kathy Waugh (Big and Small). Smokewood Entertainment’s Sarah Siegel-Magness and Gary Magness (Precious) produced the film with Bobbi Sue Luther and Andrew Sugarman serving as executive producers. The film was released theatrically by Relativity Media.

JUDY MOODY AND THE NOT BUMMER  SUMMER is available as a 1-disc DVD or 3-disc Blu-ray Triple Play with Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy.  ARP is $24.99 for Blu-ray Triple Play and $19.99 for DVD.

This stuff is so true..

Truths For Mature Humans

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? **** it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice mail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

17. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

18. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

19. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay.

20. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

21. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.

22. I would rather try to carry 10 over-loaded plastic bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

23. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.

24. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

25. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

26. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

27. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

28. Is it just me or do high school kids get dumber & dumber every year?

29. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

30. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate bicyclists.

31. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

32. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet my *** everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time!

Pretzel Crisps® ~ Review

I don't know about you, but I really love pretzels. They are so yummy! I will eat pretzels instead of chips a lot of times. My daughter could live off of "Printzels" if you would let her! So I was very excited to do a review of Pretzel Crisps®Pretzel Crisps® are yummy pretzel like crackers. They come in so many different flavors too! Flavors I would have NEVER though of! I received flavors from the Deli Style family.
I have to admit, I wasn't too sure about some of the flavors. I knew I would like the Original and the Sesame seed, and the Garlic Parmesan sounded pretty yummy, but the flavors like Jalapeno Jack and Buffalo Wing concerned me a little bit!!! I had no reason to be concerned. I took one bite of the Buffalo Wing and actually loved it!!! To me it tastes like it has a light dusting of buffalo sauce, which is actually quite tasty on a pretzel believe it or not!! And it wasn't so spicy that my daughter couldn't eat it. She almost ate the entire bag! So if you don't like spicy things, don't rule these out.

They have many other flavor "families" as well. The Modern Classics (has a cinnamon toast flavor that I would love to try)

There is also a Holiday Indulgents Collection. I am so going to buy these if I see them in the store! Sounds so yummy!!!

Pretzel Crisps® are better for you than regular chips.

Look for Pretzel Crisps® next time you go to the grocery store. They are a super yummy quick snack! My family loves them and so will you!!!

Perplexus ~ Review and Giveaway ~ CLOSED

I don't know about you, but when I am trying to decide on which toy to buy for my child, I want something that I think will be entertaining, as well as mentally stimulating.  Perplexus provides both.  Perplexus is a pretty cool toy. It is a ball, with mazes on the inside of it. There is a little ball, and the goal is to get the ball to the end of the mazes. The challenging part is that the ball can fall down off the track, and you have to start over. You can literally play with this thing for hours. It is very challenging and fun for many ages. My husband really likes it! He is not one to turn away from a challenge!!! The ball shape provides a unique 3-D experience to the maze. This is like no puzzle toy I have ever seen before. It was named one of Parent's Magazine's Top Toys of 2010.
Perplexus assists in child development by allowing children to use their fine motor skills and dexterity skills as well as improving hand eye coordination.
I received the Original Perplexus. This one is rated for ages 6 and up. I know that many adults LOVE this!!!
They also have 2 other versions of the Perplexus. The Rookie version is an easier version for small children, and there is a more challenging version called the Epic.

One lucky winner will receive their very own Perplexus!

You MUST be a public follower of My Crazy Life via GFC.

Giveaway is open to Mainland U.S. and Canada

Giveaway ends 11/1/11

Technogel Sleeping ~ Win the pillow of your Dreams!!! **$199 Value**

I have had my Technogel pillow for about a week. I am in love. I don't know what I did before I had it. This is by far the best pillow I have ever laid my eyes  head on.

The first thing that I noticed when I received this pillow is that it is heavy!!! I was wondering how such a heavy pillow could be comfortable. I went and laid my head down and realized that even though it is heavy, it is super SOFT!!! It is soft and squishy and firm all at the same time. I don't know how they did it. Being heavy is not a bad thing. To me it means that it is harder for my hubby to steal it away from me in my sleep!!!!

The pillow is made out of memory foam and has a gel layer on top.

This gel is AWESOME because it stays cold. I cannot stand to be hot while I sleep, or for my pillow to become hot, and I am a constant pillow flipper. I will flip it over and move it around till I find the cold spot. With this pillow you don't have to do that. The cooling sensation when you lie down on it is really a nice feeling.

The cover that comes on the pillow is super soft. It is also removable so you can wash it.

I chose to review the Anatomic pillow because I liked the design. It is not too thick or too thin.

Technogel Pillows are awesome because they help with back and shoulder pain as well as headaches. I am a chronic headache sufferer so I will take a second look at anything that says it will help with headaches. I can honestly say that I have noticed I have not had to take nearly as much headache medicine since I started sleeping on this pillow. I used to have a headache as soon as I woke up in the morning, and I haven't had a single one yet!!!

I know what you are thinking. How do I get one? Right? You can win one right here!!!!

Here's how to win the Pillow of Your Dreams!!!!

**Winner will be notified via email and will have 48 hours to respond to claim their prize or another winner will be chosen**

Tuck Your Skirt in Your Panties and Run

Today I have author Lucy Adams stopping by my blog to promote her latest book, Tuck Your Skirt in Your Panties and Run.

Ever laughed when you knew you shouldn't? Battled with Satan over chocolate? Forgotten to wear lipstick to the Garden Club meeting? Tried to define variorium? At times like these, what else can you do but Tuck Your Skirt in Your Panties and Run?

In her much awaited second book, award winning writer Lucy Adams, author of If Mama Don't Laugh, It Ain't Funny, takes readers on a roller-coaster ride through life's most embarrassing moments and delivers them safely on the other side. In her usual form, Adams gives readers an eye-watering, nose-snorting, giggling gift of a good time.

Join a 40 year-old bridesmaid on her journey to walk down the aisle, delve into a magnolia massacre, attend a hawg killin' with the communists, do some island living country style, and inflict vicarious revenge on the inventor of the balloon. Adams's wit will make you turn around and check your own underwear. Best of all we each can relax in the realization that we're not the only ones running with our skirts tucked in our panties.

Here is an excerpt from her book:

Weaving a Tangled Web

My sister-in-law is the quintessential southern belle, gracious to a fault, knows the importance of keeping up appearances, believes in nourishing the souls of others with comfort foods, and practices her womanly wiles so subtly only a lady of the same caliber could catch it. She’s married to my Mississippi brother, the space lawyer, who has said more than once, “The only way to cover up a lie is to tell a bigger one.”

Imagine my surprise when she confessed, “I bought a tin of cinnamon rolls at Bi-Lo, repackaged them, and gifted them to someone.”

“Mm-hmm,” I hummed, with a knowing, kindred nod. “Disguised them.”

“Yes,” she agreed. “But three days later his wife came asking for the recipe. I thought, ‘Crap! Now he’s dragged his wife into it. I don’t have the recipe. Where’s my lying husband when I need him? How will I get out of this gracefully?’

“How did you get out of it?” I grinned.

She leaned in and confided, “I told her it was a secret.”

“True enough,” I commended her.

Providing unnecessary self-defense, she continued, “I never told him they were homemade. He just assumed it because of the containers they were in, you know those disposable plastic containers you can buy at the grocery store. And then his wife assumed it was an old family recipe! I never said that.”

“Who is he? Why did you take him cinnamon rolls, anyway?”

She sighed. “He’s Mickey, the Program Manager of the Water Valley Main Street Association and I’m a member of the Water Valley Main Street Association Movie Night Committee. My job is to hang movie night posters around town. I ran out of time to do it, and I had to confess, and I had to give him the posters so someone else could put them up.”

“So,” I said, unraveling the tangled web, “you needed a sugar coated bribe to keep him from getting sideways with you. You led him to believe that you used the time, in which you could have hung the posters, slaving, instead, over the oven making homemade cinnamon rolls from a secret family recipe just for him.”

Exhaling, she admitted, “I wanted the appearance of homemade without the trouble of it.”

“Why didn’t you just come clean?”

“I was so flattered that his wife wanted the recipe.” Her hands flew in the air, as if she made a serendipitous discovery. “The flattery made me do it, made me tell this . . . this . . . tale.”

My Mississippi brother will be pleased with how his wife persisted in weaving that web into knots that’ll never come out. That’s because he doesn’t know it’s not lies as much as it’s only a belle playing mind games.

Real Kids Shades ~ Review & Giveaway ~ CLOSED

Little kids look SO cute in sunglasses!!! I know that my daughter LOVES sunglasses. Every time we get in the car she asks for hers. We have some at home, some in my car, and some in her Daddy's truck that way wherever she is, she has them. I want the sunglasses to look cute on her of course, but also provide the protection that her eyes need. Real Kids Shades provides 100% UV eye protection while still looking adorable!!

They have sunglasses for little babies all the way up to older kids too, in many different styles. My daughter fell in love with 2 different pair.

This pair is called the Flex. I really like these a lot. They are completely flexible, so they are definitely kid friendly. I don't really have to worry about her sitting on them, or trying to bend them. They come with a removable strap so that they can hang around her neck when she isn't wearing them.

These are called My First Shades. She really likes these because of the shape, and the pretty flowers on them. I really like them because instead of the ear pieces, they have an adjustable strap that fits around her head. That way, if she bends over or is jumping around, they won't fall or slide off her face. These are her favorite of the 2.

Real Kids Shades also works closely with Prevent Blindness America to educate the public on the importance of protecting children's eyes. Children are at increased risk of permanent damage from sunlight until at least 10 years old. Most children's sunglasses are sold as toys! Not as protective eye wear. With Real Kids Shades you don't have to worry. You will know that your children's eye sight is being protected from the harmful UV rays.

Would you like to win a pair of these awesome sunglasses for your child???? One person will win a pair of sunglasses of their choice from realkidsshades.com.

I know that when it comes to my child, I want her to have the best, who doesn't? That includes skin care products. Children's skin can be more sensitive than adult's. Trukid.com has developed a line of all natural organic skin and hair care products for children. They are chemical free and smell great!!!

I received the TruKid Bubbly Body Wash and the Happy Face and Body Lotion. The first thing that I liked about these products was the container. The containers are brightly colored and so cute. Once I opened them up, I noticed that they smell WONDERFUL!!! The scent is not too strong, perfect for little kids. Also on the back of each bottle is a little picture of where the product is supposed to be used, it is part of their healthy living learning system! I thought that was a great idea! My daughter is not quite to the point of reading yet, but she can definitely figure out what to do with each bottle from the picture!!!

www.become.com

A lot of times when I am shopping online, I want to look around and make sure that I am getting the best deal. I know I am very frugal. I tell everyone that I am cheap!! LOL! But really, when shopping online, you have to look at more than one site. You really do want to make sure that you are getting the most for your money. You should take a look at www.become.com. They have pretty much anything that you can think of, from baby items, to items for your home.

Recently we moved into a new house, and I needed quite a few things. One of the things that I was looking for was a new shower curtain. I looked and looked on many different sites but I could not find anything that I liked for a price that I was willing to pay. I should have looked at www.become.com. Check out their selection of elegant shower curtains. They have beautiful ones for great prices. You can really re-do the whole bathroom on a budget.

I am also in the market for new bedding. I am glad that I found this site before I purchased from somewhere else. Their selection of coastal bedding is wonderful. I absolutely love the coastal living quilt. I think it is gorgeous and I love quilts. Keep in mind they have everything you could possibly be looking for, including drop ceiling tiles, which I think would be a nice touch to any part of your home. I can't wait to get some for mine!!! Next time you are shopping online, be sure to check out become.com.

Conservingnow Review & Giveaway ~ CLOSED

Do you have ten tons of plastic grocery bags lying around? I know most people do, myself included. While they do make recycling bins for these, most people forget to take them. Here is a great solution!!! Bring your own bag!!! The people at conservingnow.com have created stylish re-useable shopping bags that you would be glad to carry into the store. These bags are super cute and affordable. They have many different styles of bags as well, and bags designed for kids! I think the ones designed for kids are awesome, because I know that my daughter always wants her items in her own little bag.

I was fortunate enough to get a review with this awesome company, and I chose the Envirosax Minisax bag. These bags are small enough to use as a cute lunch bag. I thought it would be perfect for my daughter, who has to bring a snack to gymnastics practice. She loved it!!!

Here is the bag all folded up. It folds up so nice and neat. You could stick it in your purse!

She was super excited about her new lunch bag!!!

Conservingnow.com is also trying to educate children on the importance of bringing your own bag. They have put together awesome classroom kits to teach children about being responsible environmental citizens. You can check out the cool classroom kits here!

Wholesalecostumeclub.com ~ Review

If you have ever wondered where to get a good deal on a child's Halloween costume, wonder no more. I have found a great place!  Check out Wholesale Costume Club! They have tons of great costumes at great prices. I browsed through the selection and was really surprised at how many different costumes they had. When it came time for my daughter to pick one I didn't think she would ever be able to decide!!! They had costumes that I have never even seen before. One of my favorites was the Lalaloopsy costume. It was SO cute! It even had a little head piece that looked like the doll's hair!

They also have TONS of princess and Disney Costumes!!! My daughter is really into Rapunzel right now, but they have every princess you can think of!

I know not everyone has a little princess, but they have a wide selection for boys too!

I was sure Brynna would have chosen Lalaloopsy or Rapunzel. However she is a HUGE Incredibles fan. Lucky for her they had EXACTLY what she wanted. She was having a fit to be "Violet from the Incredibles" (Which at first concerned me. I didn't know where we would find an Incredibles costume considering that movie is not as popular as it used to be). They had just the one she loved.

Needless to say she was having too much fun!

Wholesale Costume Club is a great site to go to when you are looking for a great costume for a great price!
You should also check them out on Facebook!!!
All in all I would recommend them to anyone. I am really excited that I was able to do this review for them. My child is THRILLED with her costume. A happy child makes for a happy mommy!!

30 Day Challenge ~ Day 6

Day 6 ~ A picture of a person you would love to trade places with for a day.

I would like to trade places with my daughter for a day. One reason is because it would be fun to be little again. Also I would like to be able to do all the cool gymnastics stuff that she seems to do effortlessly. Also, since we would be trading places, she would be the grown-up, and she would realize that when Mommy tells her to do or not do something, it really is for her own good!!! LOL!!!

Rock 'N Learn Learning DVD ~ Review & Giveaway ~ CLOSED

I got to do a review for an awesome DVD from Rock 'N Learn!!! These DVD's are wonderful. They are all educational. Rock 'N Learn helps children learn by putting educational material to music. I think it is awesome! My daughter LOVED the sight words DVD that we received. She loves music, and loves to dance. Sight Words was a great choice for her, because she is 4 and in the process of learning how to read. She really enjoyed watching. In the DVD the words are written and highlighted while they are sung, and the word is also acted out at the same time. For example, when the word up is sung, the robot moved UP, same thing for the word DOWN. When she got done watching she said "Mommy!!! I LIKE that movie!!!"

Here is a clip of the sight words DVD

We really love this DVD. Like I said before, My daughter loves music, so this was perfect for her, and I like for her to watch educational things, so this was also perfect for Mommy too! They have a HUGE selection of DVD's in a variety of subjects. And they are not only for smaller children. Here are some of what Rock 'N Learn has available!

They also have music CD's too. I am definitely looking into getting one of those to listen to in the car. I would recommend Rock 'N Learn to anyone who wants their child watching educational DVD's. Rock 'N Learn is awesome!!!
