In My Opinion:

We really loved this movie! My daughter is not quite 5, and she is not one of those kids who will only watch Cartoons, so I knew she would at least give this a shot. She loves fairy tales and has the original Disney version of Snow White which she likes a lot. We watched this movie together and I have to say, it is the best family friendly non-animated movie that I have seen in a long time! My daughter is one of those kids who will literally watch a movie over and over and over (back to back with no break in between) so I am sure after about a week she will be able to recite every word!

If you are looking for a great family movie be sure to take a look at this one!!!

Meditation Rings ~ Review ~ Spin & Wish

If you are looking for a unique, beautiful ring, you should really take a look at what MeditationRings has to offer. I am not much of a jewelry person myself, I don't even wear my wedding band usually (I know, I know) but I do know pretty rings when I see them.

These incredible MeditationRings have one or several outer bands that physically spin around the actual ring they are said to bring good luck & fortune, and a sense of serenity and peace, and rid the wearer of anxiety and worry. These rings are also referred to as worry rings, or spinner rings.

What is a MeditationRing?

The Meditation Ring is based on the ancient Tibetan Prayer Wheels. The Prayer Wheel plays a very important role in Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The practice of turning the Prayer Wheel, or even wearing or having in one’s home, is said to be of immeasurable benefit for oneself and others. Buddhist teachers and the ancient texts explain the profound benefits of the Prayer Wheel for its power to quickly harmonize the environment, enhance compassion, encourage a peaceful state of mind, and assist practitioners on their journeys to enlightenment.

I love the idea behind these rings, and I know I could use a little extra peace and harmony in my life!

R604
For my review I was sent ring style R604, which was perfect for me because I like simple jewelry. I thought it was really pretty and was very pleased with the ring. I have gotten many compliments on it.

I am not one to wear really funky jewelry, so ass you can see, this simple yet beautiful ring was the right choice for me.

If you are looking for more detailed or funky rings, don't worry! MeditationRings has got a style that you are sure to love. Just check out their collection!

Celebrities have also been spotted wearing these beautiful rings!  I was personally excited to see Josie Loren wearing one of these rings! I am a HUGE "Make it or Break it" fan!!!

ITR476
Celebrity Josie Loren was photographed wearing one of our beaufiful Meditation Rings (Style ITR 476). Josie Loren is known for her roles in "17 Again" starring Zac Efron and "Make it or Break it"

And for all you True Blood Fans
Celebrity Kayla Ewell best known for her role was spotted in Beverly Hills wearing one of our classic all Sterling Silver Meditation Rings (Style R 604)
(The same one pictured above that I recieved!)

So as you can see these rings are very popular! Be sure to keep MeditationRings in mind next time you are shopping around for the perfect ring!!!

My (Hubby's) Opinion

(actually this is my wonderful husband's opinion, written by him, as I did not watch this movie with him)

I did like it a lot actually! It was very much in the style of 300 in its presentation. Dark colors, dirty and gritty in presentation, fighting was also as stylized but a little more realistic than in 300.

The acting was solid for the most part, a little overdone in some areas, but with this style that is the norm. The action scenes were very vivid and gritty. Gore was not too heavy, but blood was everywhere. Content is NOT for children, as it is an "R" rated movie, but not grotesque. The immortals were portrayed, in my opinion, a lot more modernly with younger actors. Instead of the mainstay venerable older actors portraying old wise gods, they chose to go with a younger selection of actors to play the main gods. Which I feel
is a bit more believable. If they are immortal then they would not be old. Zeus, as the father god, was a little older than the rest of the crew, but only a little older. I think they did this to have the audience feel the
fatherly role he took on in the film.

Several of the actors have been seen in other big movies. Kellan Lutz (from the twilight series. He plays the big bulky brother to Edward...can't remember his name), John Hurt (Harry Potter series as Ollivanders wand guy), Mickey Roark (Iron Man, Expendables, etc too many to list), Henry Cavill (most notably as the NEW superman which is in post production). Several of the other actors have been in films but mostly small or independent ones.

The story is very reminiscent of Clash of the Titans or The Odyssey, but with a more modern spin on it. This story does not rely too heavily on Greek mythos for it story, but instead uses it as a foundation for the story and then creates its own mythology.

Overall a very enjoyable film, if what you are looking for is decent acting paired with incredible battle scenes and respectable visual effects. Not quite what Troy or 300 was as a film, but easily on par with Clash of the
Titans (the remake).

The Rebound ~ DVD Review

IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO FIND LOVE!

Academy Award®-Winner Catherine Zeta-Jones and Justin Bartha Star in the Charming Romantic Comedy Arriving on Blu-ray and DVD February 7

Spend Valentine’s Day cuddled up with a captivating comedy, and learn that age is just a number with Academy Award®-winner Catherine Zeta-Jones* (No Reservations, Chicago) and Justin Bartha (The Hangover, National Treasure: Book of Secrets) in The Rebound, coming to Blu-ray and DVD February 7 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Upon discovering her husband’s infidelity, Sandy (Zeta-Jones) and her two kids move from the suburbs to pursue a new life in the big city.  There she meets Aram (Bartha), a local coffee shop employee whose wife only married him as a means to getting her green card.  The two strike up a friendship which eventually evolves into something more.  But it isn’t long before they’re faced with the big question - “Is this real or just a rebound?”

Arriving just in time for Valentine’s Day and featuring electrifying chemistry between
Zeta-Jones and Bartha, The Rebound also features fantastic supporting performances from
Lynn Whitfield (The Women, Madea’s Family Reunion), John Schneider
(“The Dukes of Hazzard,” Lake Placid 2) and music legend Art Garfunkel.

THE REBOUND Special Features
  • Cast & Crew Interviews

In My Opinion

I watched this movie with a good friend of mine and we both agreed that it was pretty good. Not great. Definitely NOT for children to see. It is not really your typical romantic comedy though. They put a spin on things when they made Catherine Zeta Jones' character fall in love with someone who was so much younger, and who is also the babysitter! It really does make you realize how much of an effect something like age can have on a relationship.

I thought that some parts of the movie could be better, but Justin Bartha is a cutie patootie and I did enjoy his character a lot. The thing that did surprise me were the things that came out of the leading lady's "daughter's" mouth! The things the children in the movie said were really funny because they were so shocking. The daughter character in the movie had my friend and I chuckling quite a bit.

If you are not ok with foul language and sexual references, I would NOT recommend watching this movie.

All in all I thought this movie was pretty good. I really liked the ending and honestly thought it was the best part of the entire movie. If you are looking for a romantic comedy, I would say give this one a try.

I really liked this movie. Bird watching is the back-drop for the story of three men who are in various stages of life and who are trying to figure out their priorities. The scenery in the movie is beautiful. I think the actors did a great job portraying their characters. This movie provides a heart warming story that will think about your own dreams and priorities. In My Opinion

I thought this movie was pretty cute. I really like Anna Farris and think she is pretty funny. This movie was not the best movie I have ever seen, but not many are LOL. If you are looking for a cute, funny romantic comedy then you should definitely check it out. It is pretty predictable, like most romantic comedies are, but that is the part we love about them right? I would definitely recommend this movie to someone who wants something fun to watch. I would watch it away from the kids though, as the whole movie is basically about how many people the main character has slept with. All in all it was a good movie to watch, and I would watch it again!

My Review

Definitely a must see classic movie. I would not recommend this for small children, but if you have an older child that is capable of understanding the meaning of the movie, then I say go for it. My husband was very excited when we got this movie in the mail, as it is one of his all time favorites, and I have to agree. The bonus features are wonderful, and for a lot of people this movie with all the extras will be better than reading the book.

Definitely check this one out!!!

Smiley Cookies Review

Don't you just love those cute iced cookies that you see everywhere? I know I do, and my daughter sure does. But they are usually super expensive, and in my experience, not very tasty. I have paid upwards of six dollars for an iced cookie at a specialty shop and my daughter took one bite and threw it in the trash. You don't have to worry about that with Smiley Cookie!!! These cookies are SO cute, and they taste GREAT!!

I was so excited to be able to do a review for Smiley Cookie! For my review they sent me their heart shaped cookies. They are the perfect Valentines Day cookies! My family loved them! Not only are the cookies cute but the packaging is too! I saved the box to use for something else (love to recycle boxes).

The super cute Smiley Cookie Box!

My daughter absolutely loved the Smiley Cookies, and so did my husband and I!!!

He always makes silly faces when he has to be my blog model LOL

You should definitely check out Smiley Cookies if you are looking for a super cute iced cookie that tastes as good as it looks. We really enjoyed them and shared them with my daughter's friends while she was outside playing one day. The neighbors thought they were adorable!!! I would definitely purchase these for a special occasion like a birthday or Christmas. These cookies provide a unique tasty treat that is sure to have everyone talking.

Smiley Cookie also has a very nice Valentines Day Gift Basket for that someone special!!

Discovery Fun Playhouse ~ Review

Discovery Toys is a really awesome website if you are looking for unique toys for your child. They offer so many different things and they are all educational. I really love this site. They offer toys for all different age ranges as well, from infant to school age. You are sure to find something you and your child will love with Discovery Toys.

We got the awesome opportunity to review the Discovery Fun Playhouse.
This playhouse is so neat. It is something different on each side. A school house, a restaurant, a puppet stage, and a pet hospital. It has many doors and windows that can roll up and secure with velcro fasteners so that your child can see out every side. It also has mesh near the roof on two sides so that you can look in and check on your child.

When we received the playhouse I was a bit confused at how it fit in such a small box! When we took it out we realized that it is like a tent. It has poles that you put together for the structure and then the top drapes over. I was a bit intimidated by this, but it was actually a LOT easier to set up than it looked!!! My husband had it up and my daughter was playing in just minutes. She LOVES her playhouse and has even "camped" out in it every night!!!

You should really take a look at Discovery Toys if you are looking for a great quality toy that is also educational. I know your child will love them, just like mine!!!

Another Earth ~ Review

Everyone Deserves a Second Chance

Re-Discover the Sundance Film Festival Favorite
On Blu-ray Combo Pack November 29

Summary: On the night a mirror Earth emerges in the sky, two lives are intertwined in a dramatic incident that will change them both forever.  In his directorial debut, Mike Cahill brings this provocative indie sci-fi film to life with outstanding performances from newcomer Brit Marling (Sound of My Voice) and William Mapother (TV’s “Lost,”World Trade Center).  Winner of the Special Jury Prize & Alfred P. Sloan Film Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, experience all the heartache and passion when ANOTHER EARTH comes to Blu-ray Combo Pack November 29th from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. As an added bonus, consumers will receive two tracks from the band Fall On Your Sword, who provided the soundtrack to the film.

This "deeply emotional...extraordinarily profound" (USA Today) film became a must-see sensation at the Sundance Film Festival. "Beautiful, bright and fearless" (Associated Press) newcomer Brit Marling and fan favorite William Mapother (TV's “Lost”) star as Rhoda and John, two people whose worlds collide after a tragic accident. Their intimate drama plays out against the astounding discovery of Earth 2, a parallel world that poses provocative and fascinating possibilities.  Does a new Earth mean a chance at another life? Another destiny?  Another self?  “ANOTHER EARTH is science-fiction at its best" (The Hollywood Reporter) -- with a mind-bending surprise ending that you will never forget.

Wow. That is pretty much all I can say about this movie. I loved it. It really makes you think about things. Everyone has always had the thought of "What if there is another world where there is someone just like me?" Well, in this movie, there is. I can't talk about this too much without giving too much away, but it really makes you think about how one simple act can change things so much, and how you can spend the rest of your life trying to make it right.

Also, this was really the perfect movie for my husband and I, because it was drama/chick flick enough for me, and Sci-fi enough for him!! He is a HUGE Sci-fi fan, and we have the most difficult time agreeing on movies to watch together. I would definitely recommend this movie (for adults) to someone wanting to have a cozy video night at home. We will definitely be watching this one again!!!

Mr. Popper's Penguins ~ Review

Mr. Popper's Penguins ~ Available on DVD and BluRay Dec. 6

What’s Black and White and Blu all over?
MR. POPPER’S PENGUINS
Debuting on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Download December 6!
Summary: Just in time for the holidays, enjoy Jim Carrey (A Christmas Carol) in MR. POPPER’S PENGUINS, on Blu-ray, DVD and digital download on December 6th from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.  The whole family will be full of laughs watching Mr. Popper, a driven businessman who is clueless when it comes to the important things in life until he inherits six, “adorable” and mischievous penguins.

As Mr. Popper quickly gets acquainted with – and increasingly attached to – his winged roommates, his  life quickly unravels: the deal he’s long been working on with a formidable socialiate, Mrs. Van Gundy, played by the acclaimed Angela Lansbury (Murder She Wrote, Beauty and the Beast),  is derailed and Popper almost lands in jail.  While Popper’s penguins turn his swank New York apartment into a snowy winter wonderland - they teach him valuable lessons about family- human and otherwise!

MR. POPPER’S PENGUINS is based on a novel, originally published in 1938, written by the husband and wife team of Richard and Florence Atwater.  Awarded the Newbery Medal in 1939, Mr. Popper’s Penguinsbecame a classic through generations, and is a staple on elementary school shelves to this day.  The Blu-ray and DVD bonus feature “The Legacy of Mr. Popper’s Penguins” highlights literary experts and family of Richard and Florence  Atwater telling the fascinating story behind the story..

From the director of Freaky Friday and Mean Girls, and the producer of Gulliver’s Travels and the Garfield franchise, MR. POPPER’S PENGUINS will be available on December 6, 2011 on Blu-ray, DVD, digital download and a limited edition MR. POPPER’S PENGUINS gift pack that includes the DVD and TY Beanie Plush Penguin – perfect gift for the holiday!  The Blu-ray and DVD also feature a never-before-seen animated short, “Nimrod & Stinky’s Antartic Adventure,” in which Zookeeper Nat Jones flies to the antarctic determined to get Popper's Penguins back.  The penguins, led by Nimrod and Stinky, outsmart him once again.

Mr. Popper's Penguins is a great story. Mr. Popper is a divorced businessman with 2 children. He receives the penguins as a gift from his late father. As you can guess, his kids are very excited about this. I don't want to give too much away, but during the course of the movie, Mr. Popper grows very fond of the penguins, and grows very close with his children as well. He realizes that he has been missing out on the important things in life.

All in all we really enjoyed this movie. I was a little skeptical when letting my 4 year old watch something with Jim Carrey, just based on the type of movies that he usually stars in, but it was totally kid friendly. This is a great family movie. My daughter really loved it and thought that it was really funny. It had her glued to the television for the entire movie. She now asks to watch it all the time!

My daughter is 4, and she loves Dora the Explorer. I could not have been happier when we were chosen to review the Dora Dress Up Collection Doll and all her Fashions. This doll is so cute!!!! The doll is 15 inches tall, and comes with an extra outfit (a cute blue jean skirt and a printed t-shirt) and a 32-page story book exclusive to the Dora Dress Up Collection, called "It's Friendship Day".
This doll has many fashions that you can purchase for her. She has a party dress, beach wear, a rainy day outfit, and a school outfit.

Rainy Day® Fashion: features a real vinyl jacket and hat, rubber boots, dress and “Dora’s Splish-Splash Adventure” storybook.

·          Birthday Fiesta Fashion: includes a satin and organza party dress, matching purse, ballet flats, chiffon scarf, flower hair clip and Dora’s “Happy Birthday Abuela” storybook.

l These outfits are so cute and my daughter LOVES her Dora Doll. She loves to change her clothes and fix her hair. I think this is an excellent doll for little girls. The Dora Dress Up Collection Doll retails for about $49.99 and the Fashion packs are around $16.29 each. This would make a wonderful Holiday Gift for any little girl.
