Technogel Sleeping ~ Win the pillow of your dreams #2 (ARV $199) (Ends 3/25)

Super excited to be working with Technogel again! If you missed my first review with them, I will recap for you. Technogel is a line of AMAZING products. Their pillows are out of this world. I am sure that most people have only dreamed about a pillow this awesome (no pun intended LOL).

A little info about Technogel:

The history of Technogel® started in 1990 with the Royal Medica establishment. At that time, Bayer Material Science used a special "gel" to produce small batches of anti-decubitus cushions for long-stay patients. Royal Medica, founded by Massimo Losio out of the Selle Royal Group, immediately understood the potential of the gel material and together with the expertise of the “Istituto di Bioingegneria del Politecnico di Milano” (Milan Polytechnic Bio-engineering Institute) designed an anti-decubitus cushion with special geometric features that maximized the gel elasto-mechanical properties. In a short period of time, the company released a complete range of wheelchair cushions, operating theatres and various supports for disabled people. Royal Medica became a well known producer in the medical and gel industry. Following its success in the medical field, in 1997 the company decided to broaden its application range of gel comfort products to other industries connected with seating. For this reason Royal Medical started to work for the office furniture market, producting seat cushions, armrests and ergonomic accessories for personal computers. The diversification plan followed then with the walking/shoes industry, producing inserts and insoles for footwear manufacturers.

In 1998, Royal Medica started a joint-venture with Otto Bock GmbH, which the two companies called "Technogel®", the namesake of the gel material originally developed by Bayer Material Science. Through further research, and thanks to the expertise of Otto Bock technicians, Technogel®'s benefits considerably improved, offering new functions such as reduced weight, transparency, colours... In the meantime, while maintaining the constant mission of "making your world more comfortable", Technogel® has developed applications in other fields, such as industrial components for vibration dampening, automotive parts, bike seats, mattresses and pillows. The gorundbreaking application of Technogel to bedding products, has developed a new company division, called Technogel Sleeping, that is producting and distributing with its own brand, high-end mattresses and pillows all around the world. Technogel® is also become a very well-known material in architecture, design, and art. Architects, Designers, and Artists, fascinated by Technogel's peculiar elastic properties, have chosen to use it to convey symbolic contents and emerging values of new lifestyles in original arrangements. Technogel® products have so far been displayed at important events and venues, such as the MoMa Museum of Modern Art (New York), Triennale (Milan), Fuorisalone (Milan), International Motorshow of Geneve and Tokio and others.  

This time I got to review the Technogel Travel Pillow. 

This little pillow is just as awesome as the larger ones, but much more convenient. When it came in the mail my daughter said "Look Mommy! It's a pillow just like yours but in MY SIZE!!!" She loves it LOL. It has stayed on her bed since we got it. It is made just like the larger ones with the memory foam and the cooling gel layer. The cooling gel is so awesome! I know a ton of people who are always talking about flipping their pillows over to get to the cold side, and with Technogel you don't have to!

Technogel pillows are wonderful for people who suffer back pain, headaches, and general tossing and turning at night. I am a chronic headache sufferer, and I can tell you that this really does help. I still get them during the day, but the times when I wake up with a headache first thing in the morning have greatly diminished. I know a lot of people have heard of Plow & Hearth, but I never had. When I got the opportunity to work with them I realized Plow & Hearth is such an awesome company! You can also shop by price which I love!!!

I was so excited to be able to do a review for them! It took me SO LONG to pick something for review. I am talking DAYS. That is how many wonderful things they have on their website!

Finally after much deliberation, I chose the World Throw blanket for my husband.

I thought this blanket was a really great idea. First of all, the message is really sweet. You can get it for a father or a grandfather. It is a really great size, and actually really soft. The World Throw is also really well made. I have bought tons of blankets made in the same way, and the strings pull out. It just makes the whole blanket look bad. But this one does not seem like it would do that.

My daughter was super excited when we got this in the mail. She could not wait to give it to her Daddy, and told him it was his Valentines Day present.

I think something like this would make the perfect Father's Day gift (it's coming up soon!) and what makes it even better is that you can personalize it! My hubby loved his!!!

My (Hubby's) Opinion

(actually this is my wonderful husband's opinion, written by him, as I did not watch this movie with him)

I did like it a lot actually! It was very much in the style of 300 in its presentation. Dark colors, dirty and gritty in presentation, fighting was also as stylized but a little more realistic than in 300.

The acting was solid for the most part, a little overdone in some areas, but with this style that is the norm. The action scenes were very vivid and gritty. Gore was not too heavy, but blood was everywhere. Content is NOT for children, as it is an "R" rated movie, but not grotesque. The immortals were portrayed, in my opinion, a lot more modernly with younger actors. Instead of the mainstay venerable older actors portraying old wise gods, they chose to go with a younger selection of actors to play the main gods. Which I feel

is a bit more believable. If they are immortal then they would not be old. Zeus, as the father god, was a little older than the rest of the crew, but only a little older. I think they did this to have the audience feel the

fatherly role he took on in the film.

Several of the actors have been seen in other big movies. Kellan Lutz (from the twilight series. He plays the big bulky brother to Edward...can't remember his name), John Hurt (Harry Potter series as Ollivanders wand guy), Mickey Roark (Iron Man, Expendables, etc too many to list), Henry Cavill (most notably as the NEW superman which is in post production). Several of the other actors have been in films but mostly small or independent ones.

The story is very reminiscent of Clash of the Titans or The Odyssey, but with a more modern spin on it. This story does not rely too heavily on Greek mythos for it story, but instead uses it as a foundation for the story and then creates its own mythology.

Overall a very enjoyable film, if what you are looking for is decent acting paired with incredible battle scenes and respectable visual effects. Not quite what Troy or 300 was as a film, but easily on par with Clash of the

Titans (the remake).

In 2011, The Fresh Beat Band performed live on The View, in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, at a sold out concert at Carnegie Hall with Jason Mraz, and on the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. at Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play.   The Fresh Beat Band, centers on four best friends – Kiki (Yvette Gonzalez-Nacer), Shout (Thomas Hobson), Marina (Tara Perry) and Twist (Jon Beavers) – in a band who love to sing and dance.  Kids are introduced to the fundamentals of music such as melody, rhythm, tempo and performance styles.  In each episode, preschoolers sing and dance along as they help The Fresh Beat Band solve everyday challenges.  Viewers also learn the importance of friendship, working together in a positive way and respecting each other’s differences. 

My Opinion

LOVE IT!!!!! My daughter is a Fresh Beat Band fanatic, so I have come to terms with the fact that my DVR is going to be full of episodes, I am going to have to memorize the songs, and I will be expected to sing along. When I heard that they were coming out with a Soundtrack I flipped out. Literally. You would have thought that it was for me. I called my husband at work!! I knew that this would be something that she would absolutely LOVE!!! And she does. She knows every word to every song on the CD. So do I LOL! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who's child loves the Fresh Beat Band. My daughter can't get enough of it!

IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO FIND LOVE!

Upon discovering her husband’s infidelity, Sandy (Zeta-Jones) and her two kids move from the suburbs to pursue a new life in the big city.  There she meets Aram (Bartha), a local coffee shop employee whose wife only married him as a means to getting her green card.  The two strike up a friendship which eventually evolves into something more.  But it isn’t long before they’re faced with the big question - “Is this real or just a rebound?”

Arriving just in time for Valentine’s Day and featuring electrifying chemistry between
Zeta-Jones and Bartha, The Rebound also features fantastic supporting performances from
Lynn Whitfield (The Women, Madea’s Family Reunion), John Schneider

In My Opinion

I watched this movie with a good friend of mine and we both agreed that it was pretty good. Not great. Definitely NOT for children to see. It is not really your typical romantic comedy though. They put a spin on things when they made Catherine Zeta Jones' character fall in love with someone who was so much younger, and who is also the babysitter! It really does make you realize how much of an effect something like age can have on a relationship. 

I thought that some parts of the movie could be better, but Justin Bartha is a cutie patootie and I did enjoy his character a lot. The thing that did surprise me were the things that came out of the leading lady's "daughter's" mouth! The things the children in the movie said were really funny because they were so shocking. The daughter character in the movie had my friend and I chuckling quite a bit.

If you are not ok with foul language and sexual references, I would NOT recommend watching this movie.

All in all I thought this movie was pretty good. I really liked the ending and honestly thought it was the best part of the entire movie. If you are looking for a romantic comedy, I would say give this one a try.

ARGH! The Pirate Game ~ Review & Giveaway (Ends 3/10)

I am always excited to review new games and toys for my daughter, so you can imagine I was pretty thrilled over working with Fat Brain Toys. Fat Brain Toys is an awesome company that has so many awesome and unique toys and games for kids. When you are looking at their website, you may find many things missing. You will not find any violent toys, no licensed toys, no cheaply made toys that are just going to end up in the trash can. Fat Brain Toys takes pride in providing the best toys from around the world as well as having the single largest selection of American made toys found anywhere. Fat Brain Toys also has their very own line of toys and games! You can check some of them out here. You will not find these anywhere else!!!

For my review I received ARGH! The Pirate Game (from the Fat Brain Toy product line). This is a really cute card game and it is super easy to play. My daughter cannot read quite yet and we had no trouble at all. The cards only have pictures so no reading is required.

Learning how to shuffle the cards

To play the game you first shuffle the cards, then just put them all face down in a pile in the middle. This is called "Plunder Island". We of course had the youngest player go first (my daughter).

For your turn you draw as many cards as you want until you decide your turn is over! I know, sounds too easy right? Of course there is a catch!!! You can keep drawing, but if you draw a pirate your turn is over and you have to give back all of the cards!!!

You place your "treasure" cards in front of you face up. There is also a skull and cross bones card that let's you steal a treasure from another player. That was BR's favorite LOL! Whoever has the most "treasure" when all the cards are gone is the winner!!! 

Let me tell you, my daughter is one lucky girl. Her Daddy and I kept getting all the pirates! She beat us every single time!!!

She absolutely LOVES this game and has begged to play it over and over again. It was actually a lot of fun for the grown ups too. It was not a game that seemed to take forever and D R A G on and on. The concepts are simple enough for young children to understand and the game is very straight forward. I gave it a 9 out of 10!

In My Opinion

I really liked this movie. Bird watching is the back-drop for the story of three men who are in various stages of life and who are trying to figure out their priorities. The scenery in the movie is beautiful. I think the actors did a great job portraying their characters. This movie provides a heart warming story that will think about your own dreams and priorities. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who wants a funny movie with a great story to back it up.

In My Opinion

I thought this movie was pretty cute. I really like Anna Farris and think she is pretty funny. This movie was not the best movie I have ever seen, but not many are LOL. If you are looking for a cute, funny romantic comedy then you should definitely check it out. It is pretty predictable, like most romantic comedies are, but that is the part we love about them right? I would definitely recommend this movie to someone who wants something fun to watch. I would watch it away from the kids though, as the whole movie is basically about how many people the main character has slept with. All in all it was a good movie to watch, and I would watch it again!

My Review

Definitely a must see classic movie. I would not recommend this for small children, but if you have an older child that is capable of understanding the meaning of the movie, then I say go for it. My husband was very excited when we got this movie in the mail, as it is one of his all time favorites, and I have to agree. The bonus features are wonderful, and for a lot of people this movie with all the extras will be better than reading the book.
